Dean's Greetings

Professor Jay Finberg

I very much appreciate the trust that our faculty has put in me, to represent the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics as its Dean. It is both a great honor and a great responsibility.
The two pillars upon which our faculty is built are excellence in teaching and research. Each of these pillars supports the other. The continuous strengthening of both of these pillars is vital in for both the retention and continuing development of our Faculty.  While our excellence in research is renowned throughout the scientific world, it is not sufficiently appreciated among the general public in Israel and, in particular, by our own undergraduate students. One of the important tasks that I have taken upon myself is to reveal this “secret” by strengthening the connection between our students and researchers. While we will be faced with numerous challenges in the coming year, success in this particular challenge is dependent solely on us.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of the members of our faculty (academic staff, administrative staff and students) a  happy, successful and fruitful new year.
